A tv series set in the 1980s? A show with an actual theme song? Winona Ryder chewing copious amounts of scenery? Sign. Me. Up. Geeks and outcasts rejoice as Netflix presents Strangers Things, a sci-fi drama inspired by several films of the Reagan era including E.T. (1982), Poltergeist (1982), The Goonies (1985) and Stand By Me (1986). Set in Hawkins, Indiana, the first season focuses on the disappearance of Will Byers after some shady goings on at the Hawkins National Laboratory. His friends ban together with a mysterious girl with psychokinetic abilities to help bring Will home.

Stranger Things was a hit with fans and most critics. The season 2 trailer that debuted at San Diego Comic Con 2017 gave hope that a sophomore slump would be avoided. And for the most part it was. Season 2 dealt with the aftermath of the first as well as introducing a few new characters and a God-awful trip to The Windy City. But that could be overlooked since we finally got Justice for Barb!

Season 3 saw the opening of The Starcourt Mall, which was really a front for a Russian base. Tween romances heated up the summer while bad boy Billy becomes the first victim of The Mind Flayer, taking possession of Hawkins residents over at Brimborn Steel Works. An epic battle ensues in front of Sam Goody and Orange Julius, leaving a destroyed mall, a powerless Eleven, The Byers departing Hawkins, and an American in a Russian prison.
